Who Should Apply for a Business License?
Commercial Business Licenses are for all commercial businesses located within the Town of Payson limits. Retail stores, restaurants, and offices operating regularly in Payson should apply for this license.
Home Based Business Licenses are for business owners conducting business from their Payson home. Freelancers, such as graphic designers or consultants, operating from their home office and online sellers managing e-commerce stores from their residences should apply for this license.
Temporary Business Licenses are for Vendor participation for service activities. Temporary Business licenses are valid for 14 days. HVAC, Roofers, or service types doing one job only in Payson should apply for this license.
Special Events Business Licenses are for specific dates for a special event or sales event. Special Event Business Licenses are valid for the dates of the event only. Food vendors, artisans, and merchants participating in town fairs, festivals, or markets in Payson should apply for this license.
Farmers Market Business Licenses are for Vendors selling goods at the Payson Farmer's Market. Businesses whose Payson Farmers Market Vendor Applications have been accepted should apply for this license.
Out of Town Business Licenses are for commercial business owners located outside of Payson's limits that are conducting business within the Town of Payson. Contractors and service providers from outside Payson working on large projects within the Town should apply for this license.
Business License Fees
General/Commercial: $70-initial/$50-renewal
Home Occupation: $40
Out of Town: $70-initial/$70-renewal
Temporary (valid 14 consecutive days): $25
Farmers Market: $25
Peddlers/Mobile Food Vendor: $90-initial/$70-renewal (with an additional $20 per employee)
All licenses are valid for one year unless noted otherwise. All fees are non-refundable .
